Not many of these facts are published because of the almond milk industry profit.
A plant based milk company, White Wave published that in the first quarter of 2014 their sales were increased by 50% compared to the last year, therefore it is expected their sales to grow even more this year, and the company’s net worth will be 1.7 billion dollars.
The additives that are inside this milk are pretty harmful for us, especially the carrageenan which is a thickener that is causing an inflammation to our digestive tract.
Health experts and doctors are giving everybody an advice to stop buying the almond milk, because it is simply a mixture of water, sweeteners and additives, and a handful of almonds. Therefore it would be wiser to consume only almonds, because only that way you will manage to supply your body with the needed amount of nutrients and healthy ingredients, and avoid the harmful additives and sweeteners as well.
You can prepare almond milk at home, and it is the easiest drink to prepare. YOu need only organic raw almonds, and soak them in water and leave them throughout the night. Then put them in the blender with 3 glasses of water and use cheesecloth to strain the mixture. You can boost the flavor of it by adding vanilla extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon in it. Then store the milk in a jar and keep it in the refrigerator.
There is no better brand for almond milk than the homemade one!
