To make the levels of vitamin D rise, you must expose yourself to the sun.
But you can expose yourself to the sun for only 6 months, while the sun is gone during the winter, it is best to find a diet rich with vitamin D since you can’t expose to the sun. Also the exposure to UV ray has many benefits, much more than producing vitamin D.
The vitamin D is a neuroregulatory steroidal hormone which is very powerful and can provide many benefits. The deficiency of this vitamin is a common issue, therefore all across the world people are suffering from other more serious issues because of the deficiency of the D vitamin.
You can reduce the risk of death from any issue by 50% if you keep the levels of vitamin D optimized. About 3000 of your genes are influenced by vitamin D, via receptors of vitamin D in your body.
Vitamin D protects us from flu and colds, and gives our organism the ability to fight and prevent from chronic inflammation and infections. Vitamin D also produces about 200 anti-microbial peptides, in some of them is cathelicidin, which is a natural antibiotic.
Huge researches were done by Orthomolecular Medicine, and on their press conference, they presented over 30,000 medical papers, about how vitamin D helps us. And they proved that vitamin D is a great use to us, for our mental and physical health.
It has been confirmed that vitamin D improves:
- Heart disease and stroke
- Type 1 and 2 diabetes
- Pregnancy outcomes (reducing the risk of pre-eclampsia and Cesarean section)
- Many brain dysfunctions, including Autism and Alzheimer’s
Researches have proven that, certain levels of vitamin D are capable of treating breast cancer, diabetes and Chron’s Disease.
A lot of studies were done to find out the relation between Chron’s Disease and the deficiency of the vitamin D, but they said that there is a significant interaction between these two’s susceptibility, and they discussed the relation between genotype and vitamin D.
Researches have shown that patients with Chron’s disease had a lot lower levels of vitamin D than other patients without the disease. Due to the researches 2/7 DNA sequence variations have shown association and relation with the levels of vitamin D in the patients with Chron’s Disease, to vitamin D levels were linked only 4 variants.
Genetics expressions that are linked to Chron’s disease, can be affected by vitamin D.
Depression and pain can be treated by optimal levels of vitamin D, in diabetic women. Psych Central said:
“ Researchers wanted to know how vitamin D affected and helped diabetic women with type 2 diabetes, and were suffering from depression at the same time.
61% of the women reported neuropathic pain at the beginning of the study. They reported that the pain was either burning or shooting, and it was in their feet and legs, and 74% reported tingling and numbness in their legs, fingers and hands.
Once a week for 6 months, the participants took a 50,000 IU vitamin D2. From the beginning to the end of the research, the women’s depression levels have been improved.
Following the D2 vitamin supplementation, participants who had sensory pain or neuropathic pain reported that the pain was reduced or completely lost after 3 or 6 months from the start.
Todd Doyle was the leader of the research, and he said that for type 2 diabetes, vitamin D is the key for depression and pain.
Vitamin D3 and D2
Drisdol is usually prescribed by doctors, which is vitamin D2 in a synthetic form and is made from plant matter and irradiating fungus. D3 vitamin, on the other hand, is created or produced if you are exposed to the sun or tanning.
In 2012 Cochrane Database done a meta-analysis on the rates of mortality on people who supplemented their diets with D3, and the ones who did it with D2 vitamin.
Huge differences were found between the two groups of people. 94,000 participants were involved, and 50 randomized controlled trials were analyzed:
- 2% relative risk increase, among the ones who used D2
- 6% relative risk was reduced, among the ones who used D3
Another study has shown that, there is a strong interaction between insufficient 25(OH)D and abdominal obesity due to insulin resistance.
High body mass index and insufficient vitamin D levels are increasing the risk of insulin resistance for 47%.
Vitamin D supplements can prevent from type 2 diabetes in people with pre diabetes. This was proven by another study that was done by Diabetes Care.
Participants with high levels of vitamin D, showed that they have a 30% less risk to develop diabetes, during the testing period.
A British surgeon, named Professor Kefah Mokbel claimed that, to lower the risk of breast cancer, women should take daily doses of vitamin D supplements. This was published by Science World Report.
He also requested the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt to make free pills of vitamin D, since they are helping and saving many lives.
He called for all women from the age of 20 to be given free pills of vitamin D, since vitamin D is lowering the risk of breast cancer.
Professor Joan Lappe, at the school of nursing and medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska maintains:
For over four years the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska analyzed menopausal women from eastern Nebraska, they revealed that taking calcium along with vitamin D can lower the risk of getting cancer for 60% (breast, lung and colon cancer). The treatment is not expensive, and it is highly safe as it is easy to take. It should be taken by all people, considering it’s low risk maybe pay off.
The benefits from vitamin D against cancers, like skin, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate and breast cancer were discovered by the researchers and the many studies they have done to confirm the theories.
A study was published by the American Journal Preventive Medicine. The study concluded that 50% of the risk of colorectal cancer can be reduced by a serum 25(OH)D level with more than 33ng/mL.
A research that was published has proven that, a mere 10 ng/mL of vitamin D serum levels, could reduce the chance of getting colorectal cancer for 15%, and the chance of getting breast cancer by 11%.
In 2007, a study was done and published by the Clinical Nutrition. The study proved that women who received 1100 IU vitamin D and about 1450 mg of calcium every day, were 77% more likely to survive after 4 years of follow up.
Carole Baggerly claims that 90% of the breast cancer situations are caused by the deficiency of vitamin D, so they refer to breast cancer as “vitamin D deficiency syndrome.”
Optimizing Vitamin D Serum Levels
To prevent from cancer, according to scientists the ideal level is around 60-80 ng/ml.
An article from 2009 named “Vitamin D for cancer Prevention: Global perspective,” published this:
“Higher levels of vitamin D, will prevent you and lower the risk of getting colon, ovarian, breast, pancreatic, renal, and aggressive prostate cancer. A new model of cancer etiology was suggested with the Epidemiological findings, that account for these actions of 25(OH)D and calcium. Disjunction, natural selection, initiation, metastasis, overgrowth, transition and involution are its 7 phases. Vitamin D protects the non-cancerous cells and stop the cancer cells from growing.
Each year 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 cases of colorectal cancer each year, can be stopped with keeping the serum levels around 50 ng/mL, also ¾ of these cases in America and Canada will be saved or not even exist, based on the study.
Also the cases will be less fatal to patients who have these types of cancers, and the chances of getting them will be reduced by half. Vitamin D should be used more than the chemo therapies and radiation.”
An advice was given to the adults by GrassrootsHealth, to maintain the levels of serum around 40ng/mL, they should take about 8000 IUs daily.
Boost your levels of vitamin D by exposing you self to the sun or getting a tan. Take vitamin K2 if you decide to take any supplements.
Test your levels twice a year (on 6 months) and aim to maintain a clinically relevant level of serum around 60 ng/mL through the year.
You should test at the highest and lowest point, in August and in February.
Try to keep your levels of vitamin D optimized, since it is helping to prevent from many diseases and affects more than 3000 genes in the body.
If you do what we told you, you will prevent from modern diseases very easily, and you will be able to protect yourself from almost every type of cancer, including ovarian, lung, skin, and prostate cancer.
