Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj has re-discovered this method in the late 1970’s and he has once again proven that the consumption of water in the early morning hours, can be very beneficial for us. This doctor was born in Iran in the late 1930’s, he went to St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University, where he graduated and has learned many things by his professor, who was a Nobel Prize winner, who everyone knew at that time, his name was Sir Alexander Fleming!

When he went back in Iran in 1979, he was caught by the law and imprisoned as a political prisoner in the Evin Prison where he spent 2 and a half years.

While he was incarcerated he managed to save more than 3,000 fellow inmates, only with water. He concluded that drinking water in the morning is very beneficial, because all of the inmates were cured from stress-induced ulcer disease and they only drank water.

The Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology documented all of his findings from the time he was incarcerated, they were documented in June 1983, and also the same month on June 21, his findings were published by the New York Times Science Watch.

He went to the U.S in 1982 when he managed to escape from the Iranian prison. When he went there, he started to invest in his findings, in which he wrote about the effects of chronic unintentional dehydration of our bodies. When he had enough resources, he published his findings, that was in 1992 and 1993.

Also in his publications he mentioned a few times, that we often mistake our thirst signals with the symptoms that our body sends due to some illnesses.

As we age, our body becomes more and more dehydrated, in order to prevent from a total dehydration and prevent from a lot of diseases, it would be wise to consume more water on daily basis.
