Turmeric Spiced Banana Cake

There are a lot more things hidden in a tasty, wholesome and warm slice of a banana fluffy cake, but in this recipe we are about to show you, it provides quite a lot of health benefits, and it is boosted with turmeric. According to the researches, as you already know the turmeric has the most potent anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties out of all ingredients. At the moment, the turmeric is considered to be a super food, or to be more precise a super spice!

Most commonly the turmeric is used in particularly curries, savoury dishes but you can also experiment with it and come up with this kind of health boosting, tasty cake. You know that there are no exceptions made from our side, so this cake is not one either. It is 100% sugar, dairy and gluten free but it tastes very delicious, and even the pickiest food lovers will like it. The combination of chai spices and banana are the perfect thing that make the taste. It also can be consumed with a cup of herbal tea early in the morning or as an afternoon snack with your friends.


  • A tablespoon of turmeric latte powder (or a teaspoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of turmeric, pinch of black pepper and  half a teaspoon of nutmeg)
  • A teaspoon of bicarbonate soda
  • A tablespoon of coconut flour
  • 3/4 cup of buckwheat flour
  • 3 free-range, organic eggs
  • 4 ripe organic banans
  • Optional: coconut sugar or organic, raw honey to enrich the taste


Heat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Then put the eggs and the bananas in a blender, to create a creamy and smooth mixture, which is the ingredient that makes the cake fluffy.

Then in a bowl mix the coconut flour, turmeric latte powder, bicarbonate soda and buckwheat flour. After that add the banana and egg mixture into this bowl of dry ingredients and mix until the mixture becomes homogeneous.

If the mixture is too wet add a little bit of buckwheat flour. And if you would like the cake to be a little bit sweeter add your natural sweetener mentioned in the ingredients.

Put it in a cake tin about (20 cm) and bake it for half an hour, when the color catches a golden brown color it is ready to take it out of the oven and let it cool down. Then you may serve it with your morning tea, or enjoy it with your friends as an afternoon snack!
